Twice in 12 months I found myself in a committed relationship with lots of "supportive" people in my life but no hope for a better future in sight. I found no understanding inside of all of the "support." When I was being evicted from my apartment for failing to pay rent on time I was told my solution was simple: raise prices on the current clients. But that did not sit well with me.
You see, the problem was the energy in the building. The problem was the quality of service I was delivering. It had suffered in the darkness. And, therefore, it had compounded the darkness.
But what about that relationship? What about those supportive people?
We must be intentional about who we allow to have input in our lives. Whether the advice is bad but they do have your best interest at heart OR, more likely, the advice is based on what would serve them well in the moment, bad advice is not going to help you find the beacon toward which you will build.
